On Saturday, the Delaware Lightweights took on the Engineers of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for some competitive racing on the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia.
Delaware’s Freshman Lightweight 8 won their race, besting the Delaware 3rd Varsity 8 by 2.7 seconds and MIT 3rd Varsity 8 by 5.6 seconds. The 2nd Varsity 8 defeated the Engineers’ 2nd Varsity 8 by 3.9 seconds with a time of 5:59.
The Varsity Lightweight 8 lost to the defending Dad Vail Regatta Lightweight 8 champions by 3.9 seconds. This weekend marked the first loss for the Varsity Lightweight 8 and only the second loss for the 2nd Varsity Lightweight of the 2015 spring racing season.
The Fightin’ 150’s will travel down to the United States Naval Academy on Saturday, April 25th, to take on Navy and University of Pennsylvania.
