Hens Open the Season at the Navy Day Regatta

The team attended the annual Navy Day Regatta on the Schuylkill River last Saturday and raced against fast crews in this head race. This was the team’s first race of the season and they were excited for Fall racing to have begun. The Lightweight Novice boat placed 10th in the Novice 8 category falling to some fast crews with Penn coming in first. Following the Lightweight Novice, the Heavyweight 2v placed 6th behind fast crews of Penn, Navy, and Drexel. The Lightweight 1v posted an impressive result by placing 1s in the Lightweight 8 event, edging out the crews of Penn and Navy. The Lightweight 2v, entered in the same event, placed 7th beating out Penn and Navy boats. The Heavyweight 1v placed 7th in the Collegiate 8 event falling to the crews of Penn, Navy, Drexel, and Syracuse. The team looks to improve this week as they race at the Head of the Charles on Sunday in Boston.
