Fall Racing Ends and Focus Shifts to the Spring
1 min readThe University of Delaware men’s Crew Team both Lightweights and Heavyweights ended their
fall racing this past weekend (11/10). The heavyweights raced the Frostbite regatta while the
lightweights raced both the Frostbite and the Bill Braxton Memorial Regatta. These shorter races came
at the end of an abbreviated Head Race season in which all crews raced in the Navy Day Regatta and the
Varsity crews raced the Head of the Charles. Unfortunately, the heavyweights and lightweights were
barred, by University leadership, from racing the Head of the Schuylkill and the Princeton Chase
respectively with the impending Hurricane Sandy on its way.
Both squads now begin the long road to spring racing. The lightweights have their dual racing
season in the spring to focus on while the heavies will look to win cup races at larger regattas
throughout the Spring.
