Hens Perform at Princeton Chase
1 min readIn a rebuilding year following the loss of 4 seniors from the first varsity 8+, the UDMC
lights took to the Princeton Chase this past weekend in the hopes of finding some final fall speed
before winding down into the winter. Well represented with 4 varsity 8+s and 2 frosh 8+s, the
Hens raced in ideal conditions this past Sunday against the same EARC programs they saw at the
Head of the Charles on October 23rd . The first varsity 8+ finished 11th out of 33 crews entered,
finishing close to three very competitive mixed Princeton 8+s. Across all 4 boats entered in the
varsity lightweight 8+ event, UDMC has a lot of raw young speed being led by veterans who
have had success at the varsity level. The rest of the varsity squad, 2V, 3V, and 4V, finished 18th ,
25th , and 32nd , respectively. With finishes close to their EARC equivalents, the young hens have a
lot to look forward to headed into winter training.
In addition to its varsity crews, UDMC raced two freshman crews at the Chase this
weekend. Finishing 13th and 19th in a field of 21, the frosh showcased consistent speed from their
outing at Navy Day two weeks ago, and will continue to build this speed throughout the winter.
Looking forward, UDMC has lots of young talent that will undoubtedly build through winter into
spring. Let’s go Hens.
