Delaware’s Third Varsity competed in the Men’s Club Eight category finishing 4th and failing to advance to the final. They continued to show improvement throughout their race and look forward to their race at SIRAs in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Delaware’s Second Varsity 8 finished second to Drexel in their heat advancing them to the Grand Final on Sunday. Delaware continued to post impressive results by placing third only to Drexel and Hobart and earning a bronze medal. With vast improvement from Murphy Cup, the second varsity looks forward to medal contention especially in Tennessee this coming weekend.
Our Heavyweight 8 began the weekend with strong racing in the heats managing to place second behind a fast Boston College crew. Following this heat, the 1V raced a tough semi-final following Drexel and edging out Bucknell for another second place finish earning them a spot in the Grand Final. Showing strong improvement from Murphy Cup, the top varsity 8 finished 4th to Drexel, Hobart, and within close margins to Boston College. The 1V looks to SIRAs this weekend with confidence and hopes to tackle more top crews that they have yet to see.
