The University of Delaware Men’s Heavyweight and Freshman Lightweight crews competed at the Head of the Occoquan in Fairfax Virginia. With slightly chilly weather, the Varsity and JV Heavyweight boats began the day with both racing in the Championship 8 category. The Varsity had an impressive win defeating over 30 competitors with Saint Joseph University coming in twelve seconds behind. The JV placed sixth and beat several schools’ varsity 8, which is an impressive indication of where they will stand in the spring.

In doing this, both crews again foreshadowed for a successful spring season. This ended a successful head race rowing season as their next race was a sprint at the Frostbite Regatta in Mercer, New Jersey.
